Canada A diverse nation

Hello here is my project on diversity.

We watched I max over Canada and saw all the diverse places in Canada.

Why we need better data on faculty diversity (opinion)

The benefits of being different are… everyone is different so we are not all the same. It would be boring if we were all the same. If people looked the same, thought the same, and liked the same things, there would be nothing new in the world. For example, one of my passions in life is guinea pigs. Not everyone likes guinea pigs, but this is something that makes me unique. Diversity teaches us to appreciate the uniqueness of every human on the planet.

Diversity can positively impact a community because…..

It is a good thing because then we all have different strengths and skills. When new problems or challenges come up within a community, we can help each other. For example, if we had to build a new community center, some people could focus on the design while others focused on physically building it.

Different people like different things – different traditions. The provinces are diverse because they have different histories. The Indigenous communities and their traditions differ depending on how they interact with their environment. The natural landscapes of each province/territory are also different. There are small islands in Canada along with big cities. Vancouver is a big city, while Charlottetown is a smaller city.

Natural features in British Columbia are different compared to Manitoba because one has mountains and the other does not. In Manitoba the natural landscape is  prairies, boreal forest, and tundra. There are a lot of water landscape ecosystems, including wetlands, rivers, and lakes.

In BC the natural landscape is rocky coastlines, sandy beaches, forests, lakes, mountains, inland deserts and grassy plains. The Fraser Valley in the Mainland/Southwest region has rich farmland that produces fruit and vegetables.

BC has 52 cities and has a population of 3,630,140. British Columbia’s largest and smallest cities are Vancouver and Greenwood.

The main city in Manitoba is Winnipeg. The population of Winnipeg is 705,244.  Brandon is the second most populated city in Manitoba, with a population of 48,859.

Brandon. Brandon is the second most populous city in Manitoba, with a population of 48,859 in 2016.

Steinbach.

Thompson.

Portage la Prairie.

Changes in climate also make Canada a diverse nation. The climate in Nunavut is extremely different to BC because Nunavut is a cold place with only snow, while BC can be hot.

In Canada, people have many different types of jobs. In BC many people have forestry jobs. In Manitoba, the people have farming jobs. In PEI, many people work in the fishing industry. Having different job opportunities provides people with the ability to learn new things. The jobs also change depending on where you live within the country. Sometimes people decide to move to a different region within Canada for a job. Canada is a bilingual country.

In Quebec, people speak  French and in the rest of Canada, English. However many provinces have both languages.

In BC the language is…English and French.

In Manitoba the language is… English and French.

BC is located on the west coast near the Ocean.

Manitoba is located in the southern center of Canada in between the provinces of Saskatchewan and Ontario.
